KASAGIP Help Program (KHP)
Volunteers needed
Any person who wishes to participate in the activities of the KHP must first sign up to be a member of the Blue Angel Brigade (BAB), and agree to be bound by the rules and regulations of the BAB.
What are characteristics of the KHP Volunteer
- At least 15 years of age. Those below 21 years of age will require the consent of their parent or legal guardian;
- Physically & mentally capable of rendering volunteer work;
- Willing to commit his/her/time, resources and talents;
- Willing to abide by BAB rules and regulations;
- Willing to work without material or financial remuneration;
- Willing to learn and undergo training in volunteerism and specialized skills, if needed;
- Willing to abide by the policies and procedures of the center/institution/community/ where he/she will be assigned
- Willing to be supervised by an assigned KHP staff; and
- For foreigners, willingness to share the mission, vision and values of the KASAGIP Charitable Trust.
How are Volunteers Placed?
Volunteers are placed in centres and institutions or in communities where their interest, knowledge, skills can be best put to use.I. Professional Service, such as but not limited to the following:
- Legal
- Medical and dental
- Spiritual
- Psychological
- Research, survey and special studies
- Mentoring and tutoring
II. Caregiving and Homelife Activities
For those interested in counselling or have experience in giving care to adults, children or persons with disabilities)
III. Recreation, socio-cultural and sports activities
For those who have experience in sports management, administration and other related activities
III. Administrative Support
- Office work (e.g. typing, accounting, filing, encoding, and record management)
- Skill-based (e.g. IT, plumbing, painting and building)
IV. Capability building
- Continuing education
- Vocational skills training
- Conduct and facilitation of training
IV. Risk Management and Response
Response and Preparedness activities
- Risk analysis
- Individual, Family & Community Risk and disaster Preparedness Training
- Basic Survival Skills/First Aid Training
- Stockpiling & Repacking of Relief Goods/Emergency Supplies
- Resource Generation
